Remke Spijkers (1973, Utrecht, Netherlands)
Already as a child, I inherited my passion for photography from my father. My parents often took me out into nature and I would observe my father photographing mosses, animals and landscapes. Since 2008 I'm working full-time as a professional photographer.
Nature is my greatest source of inspiration. I love being outside. In nature I relax and get inspiration. I feel free. I hope to be able to give this feeling to others through my work.
Art connects. It brings you home to yourself and in connection with others.
With my art I hope to make the world a little more peaceful.
Beauty is everywhere. The challenge is to slow down and be open to it.
Exhibitions:
Gemeentemuseum The Hague (2014 and 2015)
Museum De Fundatie, Zwolle (2017)
In addition to my autonomous, artistic work, I provide photography workshops in nature, simply with your smartphone. Look differently. Photos that touch. Private or for teams. More info: www.remkespijkers.com/workshops
