About the artwork

This is one of those places that make you feel like you are at the end of the world. In the Faroe Islands, I found this valley, where the clouds packed together and the last sunlight fell on the water like a spotlight. You can see how the water cascades down the rocks, while in the distance the sun breaks through between the mountain walls. What always stays with me about this place is the combination of raw nature, silence and a feeling of being small in the face of all that beauty.

The inspiration for this photo actually came spontaneously. I had waited for hours in the rain until the light finally broke - a magical moment that made all wet feet instantly forget. The tension between threatening clouds and the soft golden light makes this work unique. It gives exactly that sense of adventure and pure freedom I always look for during my travels.

This image brings a powerful, natural atmosphere to any interior. It fits perfectly in a modern or cool space where you want to be inspired every day by the power of unspoilt nature. A picture that invites you to keep looking - and maybe one day travel to the Faroe Islands yourself.

About Roy Poots

In 2009 Roy Poots bought his very first SLR camera, a Canon EOS 450D. After having photographed everything for a while, he realised that he liked landscapes, architecture and (nocturnal) cityscapes the most by far. Since then, he has devoted himself to these subjects.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
