Baños, or Baños de Agua Santa is located next to Ecuador's active volcano Tungurahua, and as a result there are many thermal pools. This is what the village is known for, as well as its many waterfalls. With a mountain bike (which you can rent for $5 a day), you can cycle down the Rio Pastaza and pass several waterfalls, with the icing on the cake being the Cascada El Pailon Del Diablo in Rio Verde. Along the way, you will come across the most beautiful views over the Rio Pastaza, like this one. The way back from Rio Verde, by the way, is at least as much fun. You can throw your bike into the back of a small truck for a few dollars, where you then sit in the cargo space yourself....
