About the artwork

The wind blew through the windows and snow squeaked in everywhere. It was freezing cold there, and it was slowly getting dark. The building was otherwise a mess, except for this room.
This picture also hangs in my house, it really has a special place in my heart.
Urbex is actually a combination of two words, namely: urban and exploring. The aim of urbex is to explore places that are abandoned and dilapidated. Think of an old school building, an old factory or, for example, an abandoned house. The term urban already reveals that it mainly concerns buildings within an urban area. After all, this is where the chance is greatest that you will find such an abandoned building. Urbex photography is the form of photography in which a photographer explores and photographs abandoned and non-public buildings. An important unwritten rule with urbex photography is that you don't take anything from the urbex location. You only photograph what you encounter while exploring a deserted place.
