Tree trunks in the colours purple and pink, which can be seen here, fascinated me. I found the front left-hand tree trunk in particular, with its deep unevenness and knothole, very exciting. The foliage in the background is a cool green with a few splashes of warm light green colour. If you look at the picture close up, you can see the individual traces of colour, which are sometimes thickly applied. This landscape is an Expressionist painting.
