Three lion cubs on a tree trunk – wildlife photography by Laura Georgi Tier- und Ladschaftsfotografie

Three lion cubs on an old, weather-bleached tree trunk – and each of
them is doing something different. On the left, one is turned away, gazing over its
shoulder into the distance; in the middle, one has stretched out comfortably, its
front paw dangling over the edge, and is looking intently at the camera. On the right,
the third is dozing with its eyes half-closed, its head resting on the wood. Three
siblings, three moods, one tree trunk.

The cubs are still wearing their light, fluffy juvenile coat with the faintly
visible spots on their legs and flanks – a pattern that will later
fade away. Their paws already look significantly too large for the rest of their bodies, as is typical of
young big cats. Warm light from the side makes the golden-brown of the
coat glow and sets it clearly against the cool, grey background. The
weathered wood, with its cracks, knots and shades of grey and ochre
, forms the horizontal axis upon which the entire scene is built.

As a wall hanging, this motif is warm, calm and narrative. The combination of
golden brown, wood ochre and cool grey suits both natural and modern
interiors and works particularly well in children’s bedrooms, teenagers’ rooms,
living rooms, hallways, nurseries, paediatricians’ surgeries, waiting areas and offices.
On acrylic glass, the fur appears more vibrant; on canvas, the scene has a softer feel.
