About "The view at the Gygrestolen in Norway"

About the artwork

After 3.5 kilometres of toiling over rocks and tree roots, we enjoy the view of Gygrestolen. From the car park, we climbed about 365 metres.

The rock formation "Gygrestolen" has always been a well-known landmark in Bø. This very special and distinctive rock formation was formed during the last ice age.

Of course, with a distinctive rock, comes a distinctive story. With this rock, we are talking about:

The legend of Gygra

According to legend, this was the place where Gygra sat when, in furious anger at Christianity coming to the village, she threw large boulders at Gårakirka. The legend also says that one day the chair will erupt in Uvdalstjønna and this will be the end of the world.

The trek up was especially tiring; the trek down, I don't really want to talk about. With about a kilometre to go, I put a foot wrong, and end up gasping for breath on the side of the path.
With a severely sprained foot, I may stumble further down. A memorable hike with beautiful views, and a painful ending.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
