This photo was taken on the mudflats of the European Nature Reserve De Boschplaat.
Wind and currents create sand ripples on the sandbanks. At high tide, there is an average of 150 cm of water here.
Since 1990 I have been working as a Wadden photographer in the World Heritage Site "The Wadden Sea" with its beautiful islands and bright lights between the tidal movements of ebb and flow.
