The Lady and the Iguana, Steampunk Dreams. by Robert Jan Smit

High above the world, where graceful palaces float amongst the clouds and elegant airships glide silently by, Pluisje reigns with an air of natural dignity. The magnificent Maine Coon exudes calm, curiosity and elegance, whilst her extraordinary companion – a snow-white iguana – watches over their magical realm. This imaginative composition brings together different worlds. The warm colours of Pluisje’s soft coat form a beautiful contrast with the ivory white of the iguana and the light, almost ethereal background. Delicate steampunk details, such as the richly decorated neck ornament, the classic little hat and the refined mechanical accents, lend the work a Victorian feel without overshadowing the animals’ natural beauty.
The floating cathedrals, graceful bridges and majestic airships create a world in which technology and fantasy blend harmoniously. Every detail invites you to look longer and discover new elements time and again. The image evokes a sense of tranquillity, wonder and endless possibilities, as if a new adventure awaits behind every cloud.
