About ‘Stone hut in the Niedertal valley’ by Marcel Hechler

This photograph was taken in the summer during my holiday in Vent, in the upper Ötztal valley. I was out and about in the Niedertal, a quiet high valley through which many hikers pass on their way across the Alps — with the Martin-Busch-Hütte as their next stop.

On the right stands an old shepherd’s hut built of stacked natural stone, its wooden roof darkened by wind and weather. It looks as though it has always belonged here. In front of it, the path winds its way into the valley, and right where the eye lingers, the Similaun emerges from between the clouds, a bright glacier tongue on its flank. Ötzi was once found near this mountain — a thought that lends the place a special depth.

I was drawn to the contrast: the warm, solid masonry in the foreground and, behind it, the cool, untamed expanse of the high mountains. If you look closely, you’ll spot a solitary purple mountain flower by the side of the path.

For me, the image speaks of a new beginning and of the tranquillity found only in the high valleys. On the wall, it brings a breath of real mountain air into the room — it fits well with a natural, warm, rustic interior style or anywhere where wanderlust is welcome.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
