About ‘Vineyards ablaze with autumn colours’ by Marcel Hechler

It was late afternoon as I walked along the Roßwager vineyards. Summer was long gone, and the vines had taken on all the hues of autumn — from deep red through copper to muted gold. Row upon row stretched up the hillside, each in its own shade, as if someone had draped the whole valley in warm colours.

In the midst of the vines stands an old vineyard cottage with a dark roof. It’s only at second glance that you notice it, small and quiet amongst the rows — for me, the secret focal point of the picture. Behind it, fruit trees and their already half-bare crowns line the ridge, with a soft, slightly overcast sky above it all.

What held me there that evening was the tranquillity. No glaring light, no hustle and bustle — just the subdued glow of the leaves and the silence over the hillside. A moment that calls for a pause, for a deep breath.

For me, this image conveys a sense of cosiness and the passing of the seasons. It’s perfect for rooms where you want to find peace — above the sofa in the living room, in the bedroom, or anywhere where warm, earthy tones set the tone.
