Feathers in black and white with pretty patterns neatly arranged side by side. Each feather is different. Different in colour or in stripes and spots pattern.
Feathers of birds are special: they are used to fly but also to keep the bird warm and dry. Each feather is a special construction in terms of shape and composition. I think it is a miracle of nature!
The original colours of these feathers are mainly white, yellow and grey. These are the tail feathers of a cockatiel (Nymphicus Hollandicus). This bird lives in the wild mainly in the dry interior of Australia. In the Netherlands, these birds are kept in aviaries.
Because the feathers have beautiful patterns and structures, the conversion to black and white is a good choice. That way you can see the different patterns even better.
I used some straw as background. This gives the photo as a whole a rural farmhouse look.
All in all, the lack of colour, the soft beautiful feathers and the rustic background create a simple and soothing look.
So a nice peace and quiet for your wall!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
