This photo was taken on a sand drift. Not much grows in this clearing between the trees and heathland. The wind displaces the sand, making vegetation impossible.
But then sometimes you come across a strong tree. A tree that seems almost indestructible. A tree that seems to withstand the wind, the sun and the drought.
So is this powerful oak tree. It is a pedunculate oak (Quercus Robur). Pedunculate oaks are known to be strong, which is why they often grow very old. The wind has also affected this tree. Some of the roots are already exposed, yet this oak has enough strength to keep going. An inspiring tree that deserves to be beautifully captured!
This photo was taken at the end of summer. Some leaves are already turning yellow and orange. That makes this landscape photo so captivating, there are many different colours to be discovered in the vegetation. The late summer sun creates a nice blue sky with some faint clouds and also beautiful shadows in the landscape.
This photo was taken in the Netherlands, but this landscape does not look very Dutch. It could also just be that this is somewhere abroad.
Do you, like me, love the beautiful and surprising Dutch nature? Then this special landscape will be a great addition to your wall!
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
