Hidden among Zakynthos' imposing limestone cliffs lies one of Greece's most iconic beaches. In this black-and-white composition, this popular destination takes on a mysterious, almost timeless aura. No bright blue water or golden sunlight - but pure texture, contrast and tranquillity.
Look closely, and you'll see more than just nature. Between the cliffs lies the silhouette of an old shipwreck, like a silent witness to a past that never quite disappears. Small details like the bobbing boats in the foreground, almost tiny in relation to the massive landscape, give scale to the image - and make it all the more impressive.
This photo was created during a trip in which I consciously chose to capture familiar places in a different way. Not as tourist hotspots, but as quiet landscapes you can get lost in. By removing the use of colour, only the essence remains: shape, line, contrast and emotion.
The atmosphere is introspective. Cool and calm. A place where time seems to stand still - perfect for those looking for peace, quiet or a touch of melancholy in their interiors. The work fits beautifully in modern, minimalist spaces, but also contrasts powerfully with warmer interiors.
For me, this image is an ode to the power of simplicity. To looking without noise. And to the beauty of impermanence.
