Sometimes you see a photo that makes you happy arrive. Even before you've taken the photo. This photo was created in exactly that way.
We were driving along the dike on the east coast of Texel just before sunset. The dike was full of poppies. The soft sunlight fell beautifully on the flowers.
In our minds an image like this immediately arose: backlight, light through the flowers. And a small depth of field.
The picture was taken with a telephoto lens. With five minutes we were done and back on the road for the next sunset.
For us, the photo fits a beautiful and warm summer day. For us, this photo keeps the memory of Texel alive. Even though there is no water to be seen.
From a young age, I have loved being outdoors. At any time of the day and at any time of the year. My first experiences with photography date back to the analogue era. With the arrival of the digital camera the possibilities and my interest in photography increased.
