In Greece, you come across the most beautiful shutters. Some more beautiful than others. That is how I came across this window in a suburb of Athens. It is part of a building painted entirely in pastel colours. With this picture, I wanted to create a warm atmosphere: the turquoise and pink tones complement each other nicely, as do the shadow of the gutter at the top and the rather brown wall below the window. Also note that these shutters have been through a lot: years ago, they were once painted over, but weather and wind have tarnished it a bit. It is a picture of shutters that have been through something in their lives, but they still look nice. The opening in the right-hand shutter actually completes the picture: this is a surprise element to this work. After all, without the opening, it would just be a boring picture!
