This picture was taken in Amsterdam.
The Damrak in Amsterdam is a street and water between the Dam and the Central Station.
Originally, the Damrak was the part of the Amstel River between the Dam and the IJ.
The houses on Warmoesstraat between Nieuwebrugsteeg and Oudebrugsteeg still have their rear facades in the undammed section of the Damrak.
At the Guldehandsteeg, which connects the water with the Warmoesstraat, the only remaining "waterstoep", where ships were unloaded, is located in this row of façades.
In this remaining part of the water (the "Wet Damrak") tour boats moor.
