About ‘Mountain lake below the summit’ by Marcel Hechler

It was a day’s holiday in the Ötztal when I reached the Schwarzsee above Sölden. The path winds through scree and bare slopes – and then, suddenly, there it is before you: a deep-blue mountain lake, framed by grey rock, with the pointed Rotkogel towering above it like a dark pyramid.

What struck me immediately was the tranquillity. Hardly a sound, no wind – just the still water, in which the clouds and a glimpse of the summit are reflected. White cumulus clouds drifted across the sky; through the haze behind them, one could just make out the distant ranges of the Ötztal Alps.

I stood on the shore for a long time before I took the shot. It is this blend of barrenness and vastness that makes such places special to me: nothing distracts you, everything is reduced to the essentials – water, rock, sky. For me, the image speaks of tranquillity and of just how small one feels in such a place – and how good that feels.

Hanging on the wall, the image has precisely this calming effect. The cool shades of blue and grey suit modern, simply furnished rooms just as well as a bedroom or living room where one wishes to unwind.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
