This picture was taken in Muiden.
The Muiderslot is a medieval castle in the North-Holland town of Muiden, built around 1285, restored in 1370 and a national museum since 1878.
The castle is a square water castle.
On each corner of the castle is a round tower and within the walls is a large building with stepped gables.
The castle was built at the mouth of the Vecht in the Zuiderzee, where nowadays the IJmeer is located.
Muiden, with its harbour, is located directly next to the castle.
