A common bird on the Strait of Gibraltar, but do not always come close to ships. The Kuhls shearwater is a predator that searches for food just above the waves. They also regularly sit in groups on the water.
On this occasion, we were at sea looking for dolphins and whales, but the birds provided some distraction for me. I have regularly seen these birds on the water there, but never really managed to photograph them. Until this encounter.
The sea was quite calm, so tracking the bird with my camera was not a big problem.
