In the Strait of Gibraltar, it is possible to spot dolphins and whales, which is also a favourite activity of mine. In this case, we had just gone out to sea when we found ourselves in fairly dense fog. And in that fog, we found a family of pilot whales. I took this photo vertically because I wanted the fog to be in the image as well. The fog provided softer light and the sea slowly merges into the sky, which I personally like the effect.
Ronald Buitendijk started a few years ago with photographing animals he was looking for. With great pleasure he goes looking for wild animals to put them on film. Of course this is done in a way to disturb the animals as little as possible.
