This photo was taken in Bonaire. You can see the kibrahacha tree in bloom. The kibrahacha is a native tree that blooms five days after the first heavy rain of the season. It then blooms for three days. Kibrahacha can be translated from Papiamentu as 'broken axe' (kibra - hacha). The wood of the tree is so hard that people used to break many a bee on it.
