About ‘Glacial lake on the Saykogel’ by Marcel Hechler

Whilst hiking through Vent in the Ötztal valley, I came across this small glacial lake at the foot of the Saykogel. The water was so still that the entire mountain range was reflected in it — the glaciated peaks of the Ötztal Alps, the drifting clouds, the vast summer sky. For a moment, the scene existed twice over: real above, a silent reflection in the lake below.

The water here is so clear that you can see right to the bottom. Flat stone slabs lie close together, some on the shore almost bright and golden. If you look more closely, you’ll spot an old metal surveying tripod on the right and a small cairn on the left — quiet signs that people have been up here too.

In the background lie the glaciers that feed lakes like this one. They are still mighty — and that is precisely what I wanted to capture, whilst they can still be seen like this.

The clarity of this place has stayed with me: cool, vast, utterly still. The image brings this high-alpine tranquillity into the room. It suits bright, minimalist homes, above the bed or in the office — anywhere where you might want to take a moment to breathe deeply whilst looking at it.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
