From the top of El Hierro, Mirador de Las Playas overlooks the infinite Atlantic Ocean. Here is a spectacular view from this tranquillity and parking area. Magical place to connect with nature, the wind through your hair, dreaming away into nothingness, just being ONE with your surroundings. The endemic trees Canary pine make the landscape fantastically beautiful, their coarse red bark, the extremely long needles on the branches, beautiful large pine cones as fruits. Scourged by nature, the sharp sun that daily burns in on the crop, as well as the wind that blows along the slopes from a fixed angle, are partly responsible for the state of the tree, hanging forward along the mountain rocks of volcanic lava, which makes this very tree in this place so iconic and beautifully modeled in this landscape image with that vast Atlantic ocean. El Hierro, an island where time has stood still, where apart from a small oil refinery for the asphalt plant to maintain the infrastructure, there is no other form of industry on the entire island. Agriculture, some simple animal husbandry, fishing, and a simple form of tourism, that's all there is. Friendly people, overwhelming nature, simplicity and honesty, no luxury, no resorts, no highbrow. Ordinary life, and you can be part of that for a while on holiday on El Hierro.
