The photo was taken during a photography trip in Svalbard on a sailing ship, which I had the privilege of accompanying.
I like drama in my landscape photos where, especially with such clouds and such light, I want to depict some form of drama.
The photo was taken with long shutter speeds using a polariser, a 10-stop ND and an ND grad. The shutter speed was 391 seconds. Obviously from a sturdy tripod.
The vastness and solitude of the whole area are so special and cannot be described in words. It is something I try to reflect in my photos of the area.
