I had never seen this flower before.
I came across it at the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam.
It turned out to be the flower of the Capparis Spinosa.
We know this plant mainly because of its capers. These are the unopened flower buds that are pickled in vinegar. They are then used like this in the kitchen with all kinds of dishes in sauces, with fish or pizza.
I thought it was a very pretty, frilly flower, with pretty pink stamens.
Hence I took this photo of it.
