I saw this Mycena on a moss-covered dead tree during a walk through the Heilooërbos forest.
The Mycena is found among grass, leaves, needles and on decaying wood, in deciduous, coniferous forest, heath and grassland, especially on acidic, nutrient-poor soils.
It was a grey and cloudy day, so the Mycena was pretty much in the dark.
So I was lucky to see this one, as it was also only a few centimetres high.
At the time I was photographing, some sunlight just came through the trees.
This also just illuminated the Mycena.
So this enabled me to get it in the picture in this way.
The moss also just came out nicely through this exposure, as did the shape of the dead tree.
