I photographed this Frangipani flower while travelling through Thailand in the beautiful temple city of Ayutthaya. The flower was in the hand of a large Buddha statue clad in a yellow shawl.
The yellow and orange clothing of the monks acts as a constant reminder of the importance of letting go as the basis of Buddhism; nothing is fixed and if I say now, the moment has already passed. The Frangipani flower represents the beginning of a new life, challenge or big step towards a new life.
I love zooming in on something relatively small and then highlighting it through composition and little depth of focus. It was so beautiful there, I almost couldn't stop photographing and so was able to create many beautiful images for my Mindful Living Art collection.
