I photographed this hand-held photo of a golden Buddha statue in the temple city of Ayutthaya. The picture is part of a triptych selected from my Thailand travelogue in 1999.
In Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand, you can visit many ancient temples by bicycle. There were so many beautiful Buddha statues and special details there that I could hardly stop photographing.
In my work as a photographer and sculptor, I often focus on hands. I love hands, for me they represent cooperation, reaching out, help, invitation and decisiveness.
