About "Blinking in the dust of the past"

About the artwork

The photo shows a window in an abandoned paper factory in the Black Forest, through which only weak light penetrates. The once functional industrial glazing is now dull, encrusted with dirt and marked by time. In front of it stands a railing with a coiled cable - silent testimony to abandoned work processes. A graffiti in the form of a stylised smiley face with crossed eyes and an outstretched tongue is particularly eye-catching. The contrast between the morbid atmosphere and the cheeky face creates an ambivalent mood of melancholy and irony. It almost seems as if the place itself is winking - as a silent response to the decay that surrounds it. The monochrome colour scheme emphasises the heaviness of the scene and draws the eye to the texture of the windows, walls and floor. This snapshot captures the essence of urban exploration: the exploration of forgotten spaces and the discovery of traces left by people - accidental, planned or ironically playful. The combination of technical structure, decay and creative expression makes this image an authentic testimony to past industrial history through the ages.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
