Between water and light
In this painting, abstraction becomes an interior landscape. The shapes float like echoes of anemones or large aquatic leaves, recalling the fragile fluidity of underwater worlds. An island emerges, discreet, in the midst of the undulations: it is both refuge and anchor, a fragment of land lost in the liquid immensity.
The colours respond to each other in silence, as if the water carried within it the memory of light, sky and depths. The viewer oscillates between proximity and distance: what he or she is contemplating could be a familiar shoreline, but also a distant, inaccessible horizon.
This painting invites us to meditate on our relationship with nature. It suggests that, like this island, we are both rooted in the earth and open to the infinity of the sky and sea - a fragile balance between the visible and the invisible.
