Anne Boleyn - Queen of England - Wife from Henry VIII.
⚔️ This painting is part of a series depicting female personalities. This painting is no. 8 and shows the historical person: ANNE BOLEYN. She was the second wife of Henry VIII, who ruled England as king in the 16th century. In 1536, the king had his wife beheaded! Prior to this, there were turbulent times at court and Henry VIII broke with the Pope in Rome. In return, he was finally able to marry his beloved Anne Boleyn, with the desire to have a son (heir to the throne) from her. But things turned out differently...
⚔️ The painting shows Anne's fate in a morbid way. She was beautiful, cheeky, intelligent and unique. A memento of her fate is intended to show her face. Painted with artist acrylic colours on a previously created abstract background. The portrait of Anne Boleyn is based on an original painting from the 16th century by the artist Holbein. However, I have made changes to my painting in many respects. Anne's facial expression is no longer quite as stiff as we know it from medieval paintings. Of course, artistic freedom is an aspect here.
⚔️ You could see the picture like this: Anne Boleyn in JENSEITS, her head reconnected to her body! In a transformed form after death, this would be possible.....?!!! I think so.
The special thing about this portrait is the fusion or connection of the background with the subject. This gives the picture dynamism and character of its own. The whole series is conceived in this way. The woman in this painting is part of the series: Special women.
