Close to the dike in Hindeloopen in Friesland on the IJsselmeer are a number of breakwaters. These are a row of old bollards. The photo was taken with a longer exposure time to soften the water and sky. Hindeloopen is located in the province of Friesland on the IJsselmeer, which used to be called Zuiderzee.
The installation of the Afsluitdijk in 1932 turned the IJsselmeer into a freshwater lake with an area of 1133 square metres. There is no ebb and flow with it and there is also a current. I took the photo on a beautiful summer evening where there was no wind and a beautiful sunset.
