These trees stand in the water in the beautiful Tusschenwater nature reserve and marshland. This area is located between Hoogezand and Zuidlaren near the Zuidlaardermeer area in the Hunzedal. Around 2019, this area will be officially opened. It is a water extraction and water storage area but also an area where many species of birds like the avocet, geese, ducks and waders found a new foraging area but you can also encounter the beaver and the otter here. It is a paradise for birds. It is a wet area where there will be water all year round in winter it fills up and in summer months there will be less water. You will also find beautiful hiking trails on dirt paths, paved roads and quays. The area is managed by Stichting Het Drentse Landschap.
