There are simply overwhelming moments in life.
I experienced one of these moments on the journey to Madeira airport. I thought I had already seen most of it when I came to an incredibly beautiful mountain forest. The mist drifted through the old and mighty trunks of the Canary Island pine. Lichens and mosses clung to the rough bark of the pines.
As a nature and forest lover, it was a fantastic sight.
I still had time and naturally stopped to capture this photographically.
I had the idea for this abstract picture, because the opportunity was perfect for it.
I photographed the forest using manual settings and my own photo-fishing technique.
The photographic effect and the lichen on the trees make them look as if they have been painted with oil colours.
The dark forest created strong colours that alternate with the dark shadows of the trees.
For me it is a great forest painting.
Nature is my passion and I want to share it with other people through my pictures. Whenever possible, I go out into nature with my camera.
