I took this photo on the Ermelosche Heide. As you can see, the heather was already a nice purple when I took this photo. The sheep in the photo was separated from the flock of sheep a few meters away, so I could take a photo of this sheep. The sheep is from the Veluws heath sheep. As you can see I used a low viewpoint to get eye level with the sheep. I took the photo further out of hand, because of the light it was possible to do so. In the background you can see a mixed forest with trees such as Scots pine, birch and oak. The sheep herd on the Ermelosche heath runs there for the maintenance of the heath and also to maintain the breed of sheep. Usually in the summer and weekends you see people walking around the herd, it's a beautiful sight such a herd on the heath and especially when the heather is purple.
