My name is Corine, and I have been involved in creativity since I was young. As a child, I was into crafts and drawing a lot, and that passion has never disappeared. Later, I took a course in floral design, which allowed me to express my creativity in a different way. There, too, I found great pleasure in combining shapes and colours.
Nowadays, besides my current job, my focus is on painting. I make unrealistic portraits, often with an expressionistic look and blushing cheeks, as well as abstract paintings. My style falls within outsider art/art brut. I present my work under the name Imperfecto.
Although it is exciting to share this with many, I feel it is time to show myself and my story. The theme of blushing often comes up in my work, and for me it has a reason, something I have personally had a long struggle with. For years I suffered from fear of blushing, which affected and limited much of my life. It felt like blushing/being red was something that wasn't allowed, something I was ashamed of. I'm getting better at dealing with it, and letting go of my insecurities more and more. I find that painting helps me with that.
My message I would like to share: imperfection makes us unique, and it is allowed to be there, in whatever form.
