The painting "Panic Attack" shows a penetrating image of mental confusion and inner struggle. In the centre of the canvas, we see a face, but only part of it is visible: the mouth, without the eyes or nose, immediately evoking a sense of isolation and incompleteness. Draped over the face are massive, detailed brains overlapping half the face. These pink brains contrast sharply with the green-tinted background, creating a sense of tension and alienation.
Snaking through the brain are tangle-like curls, winding through the image like wavy lines. This dynamic movement of the curls seems to symbolise the chaos and turmoil brought on by a panic attack. The mouth, prominently visible, suggests an attempt to speak, but the brain and curls seem to block communication, reinforcing the inner panic and confusion.
