Fred is a versatile photographer. The subjects mostly have a similarity with nature. Animals, plants, food, landscapes, peace and quiet. He photographs as he perceives the world, sometimes with a message but always with feeling.
Fred is not easily satisfied with the final product. For him, professionalism is being able to identify that there is still a lot to learn. Self-reflection and using feedback is important here, without losing one's own creativity. The most important thing remains for Fred, finding photography a creative challenge, conveying emotion and feeling in images. His great strength is always being able to keep calm and composure, which often enables him to capture exactly the right moment. His inspiration comes partly from his interests in biodiversity and his love for animals. Details that others do not see are visible to him. Inspiration for compositions and landscapes comes from his admiration of Golden Age painting. Shadow and light, the cloudscape, the use of pastel shades and the natural colour palette. Of the Nativ peoples of almost all continents, Fred admires their art with soft tones and sometimes one or two colours. Minimalism in simplicity.
