Self-taught, intuitive, artist Ma-art-je had wanted to go to art school, but her life turned out differently. She eventually graduated as a graphic designer, but went to work in healthcare. The urge to create remained and so, after years of experimenting with materials, she intuitively developed her own style. She prefers working with black ink and watercolour, but also makes paintings with acrylic paint. Sometimes she uses seeds and herbs to add textures to her creations.
She is an artist but, for the love of the craft, still works part-time in healthcare.
