I had planned to take photos at sunrise at Hohenzollern Castle in Hechingen. I had hoped that the castle would be surrounded by a sea of fog. However, when I arrived at the Zellerhorn viewpoint around an hour before sunrise, there were only a few small banks of mist in the valley. I waited a little longer and observed the situation. Although the fog in the valley increased slightly, it quickly became clear that it wouldn't reach the castle that day. So I made my way back home before sunrise without taking a single picture. On the way, I passed Sigmaringen and the Hohenzollern Castle, the administrative centre of the Princes of Hohenzollern. The sun had risen shortly before and a few high clouds had gathered in the meantime - the timing was perfect and the conditions were just right...
