I love Van Gogh and my aim is to apply paint just as thickly as he did, only digitally.
The only thing I let external programmes do is occasionally use an art filter to add more contrast, but these filters are then carefully considered and edited.
The concept and composition, colours and layering – no AI is involved. I don’t think an AI could manage it either, as you have to push certain boundaries from time to time.
