Some think it is a beauty, others think it is a nasty beast. But whatever your opinion on the advancing wolf packs, they are still beautiful animals! This fine-art oil painting depicts a young wolf, with a beautiful and vibrant coat in a variety of colour tones. Its eyes are expressive and particularly detailed. Is the wolf now looking with a sweet gaze, or is the focus on pouncing on its prey? It could be both. Thanks to the use of natural colours, the painting fits nicely into a quiet or rural interior. The larger the size, the more expressive the painting becomes as an eye-catcher in the living room. The painting is made with the oil painting technique also used by the old masters. First, an underpainting was created on the canvas in the colours raw umber and titanium white. After this, I painted over the underpainting with transparent oil colours, in several layers. Accents are then applied with an opaque oil paint. By painting several layers on top of each other, the colours shine through each other and create depth in the painting.
