About ‘Man in Glacier Lake Iceland’ by conny-van-gaans

Glacial lake Fjallsárlón, in which many small icebergs float, lies at the foot of glacier Fjallsjökull. This glacier is part of Iceland's largest glacier, the Vatnajökull. This man takes a boat ride on the glacier lake. From the look on his tough face, it must be a very special experience. The adventure awaits everyone, but if it takes a while, you can dream away at this. The painting has a lot of colour nuances that add an extra dimension, especially in the larger sizes. The painting is made with the oil painting technique also used by the old masters. First, an underpainting was created on the canvas in the colours raw umber and titanium white. After this, I painted over the underpainting with transparent oil colours, in several layers. Accents are then applied with an opaque oil paint. By painting several layers on top of each other, the colours shine through each other and create depth in the painting.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
