In the middle of winter, light is scarce inside the flat. In this half-light, the window becomes a living tableau, revealing an old façade of Metz under a light fall of snow. The snowflakes dance in front of the windows, softening the contours of the stonework and roofs. The choice of black and white reinforces this timeless impression: the city freezes in an almost unreal silence.
I wanted to capture this suspended moment, where the dark interior contrasts with the diffuse clarity of the exterior. The window plays a dual role here: it frames the scene like a work of art and also symbolises the boundary between refuge and openness to the world.
This photograph conveys the winter atmosphere as I experienced it: an impression of calm, of slowness, but also of poetry. It invites contemplation, as if each snowflake had its own story to tell.
