The white flower in this photo is the IIberis Sempervirens (called Scheefkelk or Scheefbloem in Dutch), which originally grows and blooms in mountainous areas. In spring, these little plants bloom in our garden, creating a carpet of white flowers throughout the garden, beautiful to look at, as if the whole garden is illuminated by these flowers.
All together, these little white flowers are beautiful to look at, but up close a single specimen is also a work of nature's art: beautiful little white leaves with little yellow stamens and pistils in between. Because these flowers illuminate our garden so beautifully, I wanted to put one of these little flowers in the light myself. I photographed the flower from above with rays of light placed around it. These rays of light have a nice circular pattern and fan out to the edges of the light artwork. The light beams were formed by using two ordinary utensils: one made of glass and one of metal. The flower itself is now the centre of attention and is itself surrounded by beautiful light. A work of art by nature, beautiful for your wall to enjoy this spring flower for a long time to come. A natural work of art with a special abstract pattern in light.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
