White Mushroom in the Forest – Mystical Macro Photography by Fotografiecor .nl

This macro photograph captures an intimate moment of a solitary white mushroom rising proudly from the dark forest floor. What makes this image unique is the masterful interplay between light and depth of field. Whilst the mushroom is depicted with razor-sharp clarity—with even the finest gills beneath the cap visible—the background blends into a spectacular, golden bokeh. The soft circles of light are reminiscent of the last rays of sunlight piercing through the foliage, creating a fairy-tale-like contrast with the mysterious, deep shadows in the foreground.

As the day slowly gives way to evening, an atmosphere emerges in the Dutch forest that feels almost otherworldly. Capturing this specific moment requires patience and a deep respect for the small-scale wonders of our own woods. Portraying this tranquil natural world is my way of sharing the hidden beauty of our region with the world.

This piece looks superb in an atmospheric, modern or classic interior, where the warm golden tones enrich the space. For the finish, I recommend a print on brushed aluminium; this emphasises the textures of the mushroom and the mysterious depth of the forest.
