Loekie Grijspaardt was born in Scheveningen (1958) and feels very much at home in The Hague. As a child, she started drawing mandelas. With the advent of felt-tip pens in the early 1960s, her father had to hide them because they were unaffordable at the time. The intense colours were the beginning of her inspiration.
