About "Westfriese Omringdijk 1"

About the artwork

Running through the north of North Holland is the Westfriese Omringdijk, some 126 kilometres long. This dyke has a history that has had major consequences for the Netherlands. Indeed, this was once of the first reclamations of the Netherlands, allowing land for longhouses and homes. On the dike, you will still find a number of mills or remnants of them, and the houses are scattered at different heights.

This photo is one of a series from my report 'Morning on the Omringdijk'. In this, I went up the dike for a summer before sunrise to photograph the silence and peace. The fresh yet warm weather can be seen in this photo, through the warm colours that appear behind the flower. A flower that some might see as a weed but actually has an incredibly beautiful structure. The footbridge in the background is one of many and very important for local residents to get from A to B.

For some it may be an everyday sight, but for me this was peaceful and full of detail.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
