Driving along a small inner road in the National Landscape of South-West Friesland, I saw a bird standing on a fence in the distance. Very slowly, I drove closer and then saw this young redshank looking at me as curiously as I looked at it. I enjoy such a young bird with far too long legs and a fearless look, a real hero! Do you also get courage and a smile on your face from this photo? I find it a nice and warm company every time I look at this bird. This picture also fits well in a children's room, when you want to bring your children close to nature. You can make up your own story to go with it. It could be a character from Pluk van de Petteflet!
